Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a project inquiry, request a free AI analysis, email us, or call us, you may share:

  • Your name, company, email address, and phone number
  • Project details such as shoot location, timing, budget, and what you’re looking to create
  • Scripts, decks, reference videos, links, or other files you choose to upload or send
  • Anything else you include in your message

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and hosting provider collect basic technical data when you visit — such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you. Some of this is collected through cookies (see below).

Information from others. We may receive your contact details from a referral, a partner agency, or a client who brings us onto a project.

How We Use Your Information

  • Respond to your inquiry and put together an approach, crew, and scope for your project
  • Plan, produce, edit, and deliver the work you hire us for
  • Coordinate with the videographers, editors, and production professionals assigned to your project
  • Send quotes, invoices, schedules, and project updates
  • Improve our website and understand how visitors find us
  • Send occasional updates about our work — only where permitted, and you can opt out at any time
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

Your Footage and Project Materials

Footage, scripts, brand assets, and other materials shared with us for a production are used only to deliver that project. We treat them as confidential and don’t share them outside the team working on your project. Ownership and usage rights for finished work are set out in your project agreement. We only feature client work in our reel, portfolio, or social channels when our agreement allows it or we have your permission.

People Who Appear on Camera

If you appear in a video we produce — as an interview subject, talent, or event attendee — how your likeness is used is governed by the release you sign or by the event’s filming notice, along with our client’s own policies. If you have questions about footage you appear in, contact us and we’ll help connect you with the right party.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business and deliver your project:

  • Production crew: videographers, editors, and other professionals from our network who are working on your project
  • Service providers: companies that help us operate — such as website hosting, form processing, email, scheduling, file transfer, and payment processing — who may only use your information to provide those services to us
  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dogtown Films, our clients, or others
  • Business changes: if Dogtown Films is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep inquiry and client information for as long as needed to respond, deliver the project, and meet our business, tax, and legal obligations. Project files and footage are kept according to our archive practices and your project agreement. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and limit access to people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails, by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy laws, and we will honor those requests as required.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
